MAFS' Samuel Levi shares confronting post from hospital bed while suffering from 'kidney stones and extreme gastro'

Married At First Sight star Samuel Levi has opened up about a horrifying hospital dash that he's described as "absolute hell".

The reality star, who starred on the New Zealand version of MAFS in 2018, took to Instagram to reveal he'd been suffering with kidney stones and gastroenteritis – a debilitating intestinal infection – for days.

"Little update: The past four days have been absolute hell," Samuel wrote alongside a confronting photo of him in a hospital bed.

"I would not wish this on anyone at all. Kidney stones and extreme gastro. I feel like I'm absolutely on death's bed.

"The past four nights and days, I have been in an out of hospital twice now. Have not slept properly in nearly five days. I am at this stage just living on the shower floor, in the fetal position with the hot water blasting and constantly running, praying this passes very fast."

Samuel went on to say that out of everything his body has endured before – from surgeries to broken arms – this condition has been the most painful by far.

"They say it's often worse pain the labour contractions and pregnancy – and f--k me ladies, I don't know how you deal with this,"

He concluded by saying: "Praying, praying the next 24-48 hours have a fast turnaround. I just want to cry!"

It's been a difficult period for Samuel, who just two months earlier announced his shock split for partner Liam Cooper after more than two years together.

"This is going to be a shock for man, as much as it has been for ourselves, and a sad day," Liam, who appeared on MAFS Australia in 2021, wrote on Instagram at the time.

"But myself and Samuel would like to let you all know we will be taking a break on our relationship and not moving forward as a 'couple' for now."

Both Liam and Samuel believed that because they entered the relationship "very publicly and in the public" eye it was only right to be "transparent" with their fans and followers.

But they were very clear in the post that they would always remain close friends.

"We are best friends, soul mates and will remain doing life together and everything else including living together," Liam added.

"But we are using this time to find each other again and who knows what the future will hold."

They announced their relationship in July of 2021 and Liam moved from the country to live with Samuel in Melbourne just months later.

Liam was the first bisexual groom on MAFS and was matched with Georgia Fairweather during their time in the experiment.

During a dramatic Final Vows, he decided not to continue their relationship and ended up meeting Samuel after the experiment.
